Chiesa di Santa Maria del Giglio

The façade, monument that celebrates some glories
of the Barbaro family, magnificently rich of sculptural
decorations, attributed to Giusto le Court, was realized
by Joseph Sardi Architectus between 1678 and 1683, in
baroque Venetian style.
In the mirrors of the superior
order, naval stages of battles, vessels and ships, castles,
places and episodes of the life of the Barbaros are
illustrated. Upwards we can see the coat of arms of
the family and allegorical statues. The church is among
of the oldest ones in Venice.

di J. Palma il Giovane (fine sec. XVI)
• "Il Salvatore, S. Giustina, S. Francesco
